Global Citizen Move Afrika

Global Citizen and Done+Dusted joined forces once again to bring Move Afrika: Kigali to life—a night where music, culture, and advocacy collided in the heart of Rwanda. With John Legend headlining, alongside Bwiza and DJ TOXXYK, the show wasn’t just a concert; it was a statement. Against a backdrop designed by local artisans and creatives, Move Afrika continued its mission to establish a pan-African touring circuit, proving that Africa deserves a permanent spot on the world tour map.
This Global Citizen initiative, produced in partnership with Rwanda Events, showcased how far the region has grown since Kendrick Lamar’s historic performance in Kigali a little over a year prior. This time, the production team streamlined operations by bringing in fewer crew members and less equipment, a key milestone in developing self-sustaining local event infrastructure. By working closely with local event teams, each Head of Department (HOD) prioritized training and knowledge-sharing, while also advising on essential kit investments to strengthen Rwanda’s touring capabilities.
The impact of Move Afrika: Kigali extended far beyond the concert itself—creating jobs, generating skills training, and fostering youth entrepreneurship. As the initiative continues to expand across East and West Africa, this performance served as a benchmark for sustainable touring in the region, helping to move the prospect of regular live touring in Africa a big step closer.
