The 72nd Emmy Awards

Broadcast by ABC, the 72nd Emmy Awards were a beast like no other — the first major live awards show since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Wanting to preserve the awards’ live quality, we got inventive, and sent remote-operated camera kits, high-quality web cameras and, in a few instances, socially distanced crews to the 114 nominees' homes around the world. 

Big wins for Succession and Watchmen made for a joyous night, and nominees made their acceptance speeches virtually after receiving the award via magic box or a presenter clad in the world’s first tuxedo hazmat suit.
