Kennedy Center Honors 2024
The 47th Kennedy Center Honors, held on December 8th in Washington, D.C., was a seamless blend of tradition and modernity. Done+Dusted oversaw the entire production, from creative direction to talent booking, ensuring the event honored both its storied legacy and its aim to reach a younger, more diverse audience. The challenge was to appeal to both traditional attendees, such as politicians and CEOs, while leveraging digital and social media to expand its cultural impact and engage a broader viewership.
Highlights of the evening included seeing iconic figures like George Lucas, Robert de Niro, Al Pacino and Martin Scorsese sharing the stage to honor Francis Ford Coppola, and music legends James Taylor, Jackson Browne and Sheryl Crow coming together to honor Bonnie Raitt.
The star-studded lineup drew substantial viewership, with over 4.5 million tuning in on CBS, making it one of the most-watched specials of the season.
The Kennedy Center Honors not only raised millions in fundraising but also maintained its cultural relevance, expanding its digital presence and reaching a wider audience. With 2,300 in attendance and millions more watching at home, the 47th edition underpinned its status as the United States' highest recognition of the performing arts, ensuring its impact will continue to resonate across generations.
